Disclaimer: I Loved This Book. It was different-Not what I’ve become accustomed. However, I Loved it!
Don’t get it twisted in this review.
This was an amazing story and I loved it immensely… It was a nice read. I’ll admit, the story was not the norm I’ve become accustomed to with this author. The snarky, quirky, snappy comebacks were there, just not to the degree I’m used to. This author is amazing, and I don’t want you to think I did not enjoy this book. At times, readers are used to certain things and sometimes we over project our feelings- when clearly it’s the authors story. Okay- let’s dig into the story…
Dani and Nikolai were a couple for a while, until he decided to live in Japan with his father for a few years. Dani chose to break up instead, and sever all communications with Nikolai for several years. Dani chose to stay at home, go to college, and follow their original plan. Dani met a nice guy in college who feared telling his family he was gay. At some point it became a nonfactor, as his true diva made its presence. Over time he morphed into her best bud/style diva.
After several years apart, Nikolai and Dani were again in the same town, and Nikolai was ready to claim his woman. I reveled in the way he used his Alpha male persona to stake his claim. I was so aggravated with Dani for taking the angry woman thingy too extreme measures, especially when she would not even listen to him. The happy part was Nikolai would not let her get away with her foolishness for too long. I liked the backstory and the ancillary characters. Alister was boo funny all the way. His fabulousness was definitely fun in this story. Dani was a little turd for the first part of the story, and got on my nerves. Nikolai was hot, and sexy, and super adamant that he was going to get his girl. Charlotte and Alister played off one another with the snappy comments and comebacks. Once Dani and Nikolai made it to the romance part, my life was complete… The sexual scenes were nice. The chemistry smooth and easy to see. His sexiness gave me reasons to be happy. Overall, this was a nice easy 4.8 stars read. If you haven’t read an Ashley Nicole novel, you’re in for a treat. Furthermore, you’ll be happy you did. Until next time. I’m out Book Boos!
