Jacinta is the type of writer whom many readers like myself find joy in her written words. The Prototype Series started with Jersey, and has taken on a following in the indie world… This bands following feels like a real-life Outkast following. Hey Ya!. But I have to remind my self, Sorry Ms. Jackson…. Jacinta’s for Reeeal!!! (OutKast Singing Voice). Yes, I love Outkast almost as much as this author. Also, this was a really nice continuation to the Prototype Series.
Here’s the story. This story was about Prototype drummer Devin, and his newly-found love interest Willow. Willow may not have made a huge impression in the previous installment, as she was a quiet beauty. On the other hand, Devin was the band’s perfectionist and musical genius for the group. Devin and Bam are the Pulse for Prototype… Willow was secretly in love with Devin long before she actually made her feelings known. Devin wasn’t obviously enticed by Willow initially, not at first glance anyway. His love would eventually cause the pairing to see what each had to offer as a couple. As the band’s popularity grew and their relationship progressed stronger; Willow began to question whether she could handle being coupled with such a popular man… The answer should have been obvious to her. This third book read as though it was a pure labor of love of this author. This story was wonderfully written. The wait to read this story was well worth its weight in gold. It was nice to get a chance to revisit with eclectic-Kennedy, Jersey, Bam, Travis, Zay, and the other characters.
This story had so many complex layers to enjoy, and by far, much too many to explain. But in review, here are a few points of note. The sexual chemistry between Willow and Devin had me drumming and singing his graces.. Willow had her issues with self-esteem. Tsk, tsk… Her overall persona was like many women who’ve been forced to deal with loving a popular man. I liked the way the author used measured glimpses into a typical musician’s life on the road. Devin was panty dropping hot on so many levels. He walked, talked, and added extreme passion to this story. Devin had to make a few changes in order to win over the woman he wanted and desired. Willow on the other hand, had to eclipse her desire to run away if she planned to get her man after she unceremoniously walked away.
The ups and downs in the relationship were brought about mostly because of Willow’s need to run away from Devin. Along with her refusal to accept Devin’s feelings at face value. I kept asking Willow Why? Thankfully, the complex nature of their relationship was explored in depth. And in the end, this was a lovely well done story, by a magnificent author… Jacinta is a beast at telling a unique story with big personalities. This story was on the mark with just enough swagger to have readers swooning over the hero. And enough sensual moments to meet each craving. This author writes about people and heroines we want to cheer for. Each story is uniquely Jacinta. And this was another good read! 5 Star Rating.
Until next time, I’m out!
