Ashley Nicole decided to shut this reviewer down by writing an excellent follow-up story in the Mine Series. She told me to shut up and watch her work… Okay, so I heard you loud and clear. This story featured Janie. Janie was the sister to our favorite motor-mouth named Junie. In this story, Janie had filed for divorce from her ever-cheating husband. She’d already checked out of the marriage a few years prior. It is kind of suspect if she ever loved the fool. She’d had enough of his shifty ways; she wanted out of the dismal marriage. Oh, my goodness you guys; Junie was back and in rare form. Mellina and Jayson were back along with our favorite baby girl Laiyah. Toya was out of confinement, and she and Deon were still working through her craziness and compulsion about Jayson. I still think Toya was crazy. But that was my opinion and another story for later. I am happy to report Junie, and her lack of filteritis was on full point this time.
Janie had filed for divorce, and after the papers were filed her husband DeAndre started to call constantly begging, I knew something was off. As the story unfolded and we learned the nature of DeAndre’s issues, some of the issues and other matters caused DeAndre real problems. Several thousand dollars worth of problems caused his headaches and drama to escalate in Janie’s life. I was not sure what would happen next, as I waited with anticipation. The drama began, and a rescuer was needed. Malcolm just happened to be the man for the job. Soon after DeAndre revealed his problem, Janie’s life was in danger by association to her husband.
I enjoyed how the story was spun and woven into a nice dramatic story. Readers get the opportunity to experience some fun times as well as a bit of drama after the incident with her husband. Malcolm was in full on Alpha Man role, and the need to help save Janie was front and center in his mind. Janie’s life was placed unnecessarily in danger after her husband’s problems landed at her doorstep. Thankfully, Malcolm became her safe haven. We all knew what this would mean- a hot man under the same roof as a sexy woman would be a sheer delight. Hot, steamy, sexy goodness all over the house except in the oven and maybe not in the dishwasher. But anyway! This was fun, dramatic, funny, and a nicely told story. It was nice to see the relationship between Malcolm and Janie grow and blossom like a beautiful flower. The side characters made this an amazing story. Junie always cracks me up with her lack of filter. And Baby Laiyah is always so much fun to read about. Her little personality is vivid and easy to love. Melitta and Jayson’s love was a great example of Black Love. Alternately, Malcolm and Janie as the principle love interest set the pages aflame with love and passion. The flow and characters were a nice collection of personalities and great storytelling by this author. I am so happy to be able to travel along this journey with this author. Bravo Ashley, for another wonderful story. Ashley Nicole has thrown down the gauntlet with this 5 Stars story! Indie authors’ she’s doing her thing, so who’s got next?
