This was an amazing book… I was so in my feelings after reading this story that I reached out to the author. For those of you who’ve learned my isms. You’re probably thinking- And? Well, it was because I was totally in my feeling with this story. The premise was very emotional. The heroine was so in love with her man, she could not see his flaws and infidelities. I use the term plural because that would be the case for her so-called man.
I’ll begin with this fact; Malena and Maayad were in a no-claiming-relationship for the better part of three years. He was a star basketball player for his out of state college. Malena was in college in their native Tennessee. Are you getting the picture here? Star athlete; a good looking guy who could pull any lady he wanted. And he does so quite regularly. Malena was so in love with her man, whose not her man, can’t see the forest for the trees. Melena was emotional and much too caring for the likes of this fella. Every time I though she saw the real Maayad; his good loving whipped her into a frenzy, and he was off again to do his dirt with another unsuspecting female. If Malena and her man had not been intimate in a few weeks, and he loved sex as much as he did. Tell me what’s so difficult for her to figure out. Yes, Malena chose to bury her head in the sand, and not see what was staring her in the face. Maayad struggled with being faithful throughout this story. He claimed to love Malena, but if his form of love was love-I will pass… All of the people in her circle could see Mayaad was using Malena. Her friends encouraged her to move on with her life many times. Number one, her boo was not going to change, number two, he did not care, and three, she allowed him to trample her heart. Yes! Her Heart Was A Fool! But, don’t forget, they weren’t officially a couple. I call BS! Can you say Bull crap in French, I’ll even take German..
Now that I’m in my feeling, the next part—Just wait.. Melena became friends with Demir, a fine as wine light-skinned guy. And while Demir and Malena’s friendship grew stronger, Malena still held on to her pipe dream of one day having Mayaad all her own. Demir was also dealing with residual feelings for his ex. However, Mayaads deceptions were soon to be revealed, and life would change for each of them forever… The ending was not what I expected, and I will not spoil the story for anyone who has not read it thus far… I will say, you will be shocked… This was an emotional story, well-told and expertly navigated. Each character had a vibrant persona, whether a friend or foe. I Highly Recommend This Story! 4.95 Stars. And here’s a suggestion, you need to check out this author.. The next story I’m certain will give us more feelings and emotional matters to deal with. I’m ready this time. Bring it On Missy!
