The title of this story was a nice draw and a quick hook. Anyone whose read my reviews know by now the title and the first few chapters better hook me, or I’m moving on. This story succeeded in keeping me engaged enough to write this review. But, there is always a Big Butt! So I’ll admit, I was perplexed a little. However, its nothing to worry too much about.
The authors writing style was easy enough to get into. The start was also the ending to the story. That was an ingenious way to draw in readers. I only have one complaint and I’ll get to that in a bit. Here’s my synopsis. Xenia had just broken up with her man Jake after being with him for two years. He cheated and just kind of faded into the fabric, so to speak. Once she called him to see what was up, he confessed to being a jerk.. After the breakup, Zen started to notice a man whom she described as Mr. Handsome every time they just happened to bump into one another, which by the way, the bump-ins started to be quite frequently. And If you are thinking the same way I was, yes, this was beginning to be a little creepy. After a few more run-ins, she learned his name was Isaiah. His aggressive hot pursuit was her red flag and mine as well. Later she discovered his occupation and began work project together. He claimed to want to be just friends. All the while pursing her like a sneaky, lurking, self-serving man. Jake reappeared in the picture to muddy the waters and to make Zen wonder about what was going on in her life. The fact that Isaiah was slow to give answers about his life bothered me, as my spidy senses told me he was so wrong for her. I was yelling run Zen! Run! The chemistry between Isaiah and Xenia was palpable. I also sensed Xenia was not over Jake, case in point, she always had a reaction to him when they were together. The focus of the story was mostly Zen, Isaiah and Jake. Her friend Amy, and mildly her parents were part of the makeup of the story. Okay, I’ve stalled long enough with my little issue. So, you all know how much I Hate Cliffhangers yes? I rarely if ever finish a series if I know it’s a cliffhanger story going in. I’ll usually wait until the series is done to read. With that said, I liked this story enough to check for the ending to make sure I don’t miss this one…. A good read. Devin Nishea don’t take too long to finish this nicely told story. I needed a little more sex and touchy feely stuff, but overall I’m good. 4.0 Stars…
